Cornhole

  • Pitches must be made behind the foul line on your respective side of the cornbox – should a player toss the bag and then step on or beyond the foul line, that toss will be worth 0 points.
  • Each Cornhole game is broken down into innings.  During each inning of play each contestant must pitch all four of their bags. 
  • Point Values
    • in the hole – 3 points
    • on the box – 1 point if bag is leaning off the box and you lift the end of the box and the bag stays on – 1 point, if it falls off – 0 point
  • Scoring
    • first team to 21 or more wins, you do not have to win by 2
    • if both teams end up in a tie, they continue playing until one team achieves a higher score at the end of an inning and wins the match
  • Pitching Rotation
    • The team that scores in the preceding inning shall throw first in the next inning.  If neither team scores in the previous inning, the team that tossed last in that previous inning shall toss first in the next inning.
  • Cancelling out points
    • if Team A has 5 points on board for an inning and Team B has 3 points on board for that inning, Team A has a gain of 2 points – the other points on board cancel each other out.  Only non-cancelled corn bags are counted in the score for the inning.
  • A match
    • consists of 3 games against an opponent – you will play 3 games each week.
    • Each contestant shall toss the cornbag within 20 seconds of the previous throw.
    • Rock, paper, scissors will determine who tosses first for the first game.  The winning team of the first game shall toss first in the second game and the winning team of the second game shall toss first in the third game
  • Cornhole Ettiquette
    • No disturbing noises or heckling shall be made while an opponent is tossing a cornbag.
    • a warning shall be given for a first offense
    • a second offense shall result in the match being forfeited.

Court Layout:

  • Cornhole boxes should be 30’ apart – measuring from front end of box one to front end of box  2. 
  • Foul lines are  an imaginary line perpendicular to the front of each cornhole.
